Live Painting FAQs

  • Abigail will arrive before the start of the ceremony or reception to set-up and start painting. She take a photo of the moment discussed during your consultation (ceremony kiss/exit, first dance, etc.) and continue painting from photos at the reception venue so that guests can watch the painting’s progress while enjoying the party! Her goal is to finish the painting by the end of your event. If additional work or touch-ups are still needed, Abigail will take it back to the studio for some extra love and attention, before scheduling a pick-up from Burlington NC 27253. Once she is finished, there will be a final reveal to the Bride and Groom and we will fins a place to display for all to see. Abigail will mingle with the guests and talk to any new potential clients. She will leave the wedding as soon as she feels is appropriate.

  • Abigail is able to paint any part of the day that you want, Whether that be the at the alter, your first kiss (a favorite), exiting the ceremony as One for the first time, first dance, etc. She can add special elements like a beloved pet or passed loved one. She can also paint from existing photos of your choosing (Engagement photo, etc.) Any special requests can be discussed during your consultation.

  • Abby’s HeartWork is based in Burlington NC, but is open to travel! Please submit an inquiry with your details so we can better assist you.

  • Packages include travel for the first 60 miles round-trip. Events further than that will accrue $.80 per additional mile plus any necessary toll/parking fees.

    Events more than 3 hours away may require coverage for round-trip air travel, 1-2 nights local hotel accommodation, and any transportation costs (ride-share or rental car).

    If the painting requires post-event touch ups and the Client cannot pick-up the completed painting from Burlington NC, all shipping costs must be covered by the client.

    If Abigail is attending both the ceremony and reception at two different venues within the same day, a $100 Relocation Fee will incur.

    For bookings that fall on a Holiday or Weekday, we may provide a custom quote.

  • Abigail uses Professional Artist-grade Acrylic paints. Their vibrancy and depth allow her to capture the feel and emotion of your special day. Acrylics dry quickly, which is ideal since wet paint, partying guests and children don’t mix well. They are also archival, meaning that the painting will last for generations to come!

  • Abigail will typically wear a formal dress or outfit. If there are any special wardrobe requests to match a weddings theme, She is more that happy to adhere to the dress code!

Custom Paintings

  • After having a detailed consultation with you, Abigail Will then receive 50% of the payment and will immediately begin work.

    The turn-around time is typically 3-4 weeks, that is subject to change.

    If you have any special requests, Abigail is more than happy to work with your needs.

  • Yes I can! I use professional photos from your wedding as a reference for the painting. I complete the painting in my studio, and then upon your approval, I coat it with a protective varnish and ship it directly to you. Depending on your location, I may ship it stretched on the canvas, or if you are international, I will remove the canvas from the stretcher bars (frame) and ship it to you rolled in a tube.

  • All shipping costs must be covered by the client. A recipe from the post office will be sent for exact payment

    If there are any major deviations from the main idea, a fee will be charged to the client. This does not include minor touchups.

    If the client would like to get The painting framed, The fee would vary based on size and style of frame.

  • I tackle each order at a first come, first served basis. I give a general deadline for all orders, usually 3-4 weeks after the official order is made. If you would like your painting to be completely and shipped earlier than the general deadline, we can discuss an expedited fee. Please include your requested deadline in your inquiry.
