Fish Genesis 1:20-23, “And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. Creation of Stars oil, 36x40 in. Stars Genesis 1:14-19, “And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.”
Creation of Sun and Moon oil, acrylic, paper mache, plaster, 2 panel, 18x24 in. Sun, Moon Genesis 1:14-19, “And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.” The son of God is the light of the world. He is The Sun! It’s opposite is the moon. And though the moon will never reach the sun — in its brightness, in the distance between them, or in its significance,— The moon was made to reflect the light of the sun onto the dark earth. Sometimes the moon is at its brightest, and sometimes it begins to fade until you can’t see it in the sky, but it always comes back. The sun is always waiting to shine its light on the moon. We were made to shine God’s light onto the world. We were created to be a reflection of God. Though we can never reach the perfection that Jesus had, and we are unworthy because of our sin, Jesus came to save us, and if we accept his gift, we become the moon that God intended us to be.

The Deep 18x24 in. Oil. 2017. In the beginning of everything, before the earth was given life through humans and animals, there was just water everywhere. Even after the world is fully created, water is everywhere and the most important ingredient to sustain life. When God came down to Earth in the form of a human, Jesus, He became known as the living water, symbolizing that the need of God in one’s life is even more important than one’s constant need of water. This painting shows the formless world covered in water with the light of God hovering above everything. The ingredient that most sustains life is the first thing that is with God. “Now the Earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters,” (Gen. 1:2).
